Floor Project Complete

Hooray!! The floor is done. I am no professional but I must say that I did a good job. Paul what do you think? Now, if you scroll down, you can see the "before pics." Also, a lot of dust got in the lens so the blurs or spots you might see is actually from the lens.
This is our little hallway. I am going to get a rug.
Gordies enjoying the new floor.

This is what the floor looked like after the 2nd coat.
This is a picture after the 3rd coat dried.Paul (my neighbor) was kind enough to fix the holes that were in the floor.

I am very happy with our new floor. I wanted to thank everyone for all of their help. I couldn't have done this without you. Special thanks to Maria, Senon, Paul (my neighbor), and of course the missionaries. I am truly grateful for everything. Paul (my husband) and I are truly blessed to have you in our lives.

Gordies and Chula

The below pictures were taken a long time ago but I forgot I took them. I hope they make you laugh because they sure did make us laugh.
Doesn't Gordies look good in polka dots?!
Gordies really didn't like them! I think she might be one of the spoiled est dogs on earth! But it's okay because she protects me!
Now, the reason why I put a pull-up on Chula is because she was on her monthly woman thing. It grossed me out so I put a pull-up on her. It didn't last very long because it kept sliding off her butt!

Chula rolled over so Paul could rub her tummy.

Floor Project

In the last blog, I said that I was going to rip out the carpet and do some painting. Well, I started my floor project. I ripped out the carpet on Wednesday. That was the easy part. The hard part is the sanding and taking off the paint. Yes, paint!

This is what our living room looked like when we had carpet.

The missionaries!! I am so grateful for the missionaries. They have helped me out so much. They moved the furniture and carried the carpet out for me.

They even did some sanding for me!

Brendan decided to get in all the fun too!

This is in our little hallway. This is what it looks like after sanding it twice. I am not done yet. This is just the process. It looks better already.

This in our living room. This needs a lot more work, but I did lot of sanding today. This pic. doesn't do my work justice, but hey, it's getting there! Slowly, but surely.

Now on a different note. Brendan has drill this weekend and he is trying to safe some money. So he decided to give himself a haircut. He did a pretty good job.

I talked to Paul and he is doing good in Georgia. As usual, the Army has messed up his paperwork so he didn't have a good day today, but hopefully it will get fixed.

Dear Paul: I hope you like the floor when its all done. The doggies are doing good. Chula stinks but I tell you that all the time. She is doing good. She loves when Brendan's here cuz then she gets her belly rubbed. Gordies is just being Gordies. She is having a blast running on the floor while chasing the red light. We all miss you!

Christmas 2008

Now it is my turn (now that I finally learned how to do this blogging thing).

When we got back from our wonderful trip from Utah, the next day was Christmas Day!! It was a good Christmas. The best part was that Paul was home for Christmas.

Here is Paul's stocking, mine, Gordies, and then Chulas.

Gordies and Chula got a present!

This is one my gifts that I wanted. Paul got me a gate for the fireplace and it comes with the fireplace tools. They hang on the sides.

Paul had been asking for a sound system. This was his favorite Christmas present.

This is Paul after he set up the sound system. He had to get in the attick. Lets just say that our attick needs some work. I have to hand it to Paul. He did a good job setting up the sound system. At first, I said, "I can't hear the difference." But after a while, I heard speaking in one speaker and then a different noise in the other speaker. It is pretty cool.

After Christmas, we went to Chama, NM. We started a tradition when we got married. We go to Chama every year for New Years because that is where Paul proposed (Awww). We had a good time with all of my family. We got to Chama on Sunday (Dec. 28th). We were there for Paul's birthday. Paul got to go skiing for his birthday with his dad and Brendan. When they got back from skiing, we had dinner and sang Happy Birthday to Paul.

Chama received 82 inches of snow for the month of December. Paul was kind enough to shovel the snow off of my Grandparents carport.

We also went snowmobiling on New Year's day with my dad. We all had a good time. I can't remember the last I went snowmobiling.

Here is Anthony getting ready to go down the snow that is in my mom's driveway.

It was a good vacation and now its time for Paul to go back to Georgia :(. He will be back in April! During that time, I am going to rip out the carpet and do some painting.

This was our last night together!
