The Island of Oahu

ALOHA
Surfs Up

Hot off the press we have the pictures of our business trip to Hawaii. There were a lot of people that would say " ya you were on business ' or "it must be nice ". We had a wonderful time there. It was not all about having fun out there , we had a rough schedule while we were there. We had two schools a day that we visited and did not return to our hotel till about 4pm.

We did have about a day and a half to do some stuff around the island. We were able to go to the the Polynesian cultural center for the day, we went to all the island,. a luau, and show in the evening. I was "voluntold" by my lovely wife to go on stage a few times. I learned how to make fire the Samoan way and also crack a coconut.

I also banged some drums the Tongan way. See if you can tell any difference between us. We also were able to hit the beaches ...partly because we were right on the beach. This was nice...I wanted to learn how to surf but that did not happen.

On out last day we went to the memorial dedicated to those soldiers that gave their lives at pearl harbor on the navel ship named the Arizona. It was Nice to be there and feel the heroic spirit of these brave soldiers.

As we were driving around the island we found the LDS temple. This temple was beautiful and has a great story of the saints that lived there. During the time of Joseph F Smith the saints there had lived through a horrible drought. Joseph F Smith promised the saints that if they were faithful and stayed on the island, that the lord would bless the island. Sure enough it was blessed and is a beautiful island.
